British couple Connie and Daniel married on the Sorrento Peninsula, on a lovely late-May afternoon. Connie got ready for her wedding day, accompanied by her parents and bridesmaids, at the Grand Hotel Cocumella in Sant’Agnello near Sorrento. This luxury hotel is set in a beautiful ex-Monastery set in charming grounds. While Dan greeted guests at the ceremony venue, the bride and her dad travelled to the wedding ceremony in fabulous Italian-style, in a vintage white convertible FIAT 500.

The Ceremony

The couple’s wedding ceremony took place on the sea-view terrace of the Villa Fondi di Sangro in Piano di Sorrento. Villa Fondi is a historic villa with pretty gardens, which is perched on a balcony over the sea. The terrace has spectacular views across to the Bay of Naples. After the ceremony, before heading to their reception venue, Connie and Dan visited Sorrento’s characteristic Marina Grande for photographs. The little fishing port is one of the couple’s favourite settings in Sorrento. In fact, they stopped to visit – and share a celebratory toast – with the owner of their favourite local restaurant on the Marina, O’ Puledrone.

The Reception

When they arrived at their wedding reception venue, the wonderful Villa Antiche Mura, Connie and Dan joined their guests on the villa’s white terrace. The newly-weds and their guests enjoyed delicious nibbles and aperitifs as they enjoyed the breathtaking coastal  views. As an extra special treat, a traditional ice-cream cart offered delectable local gelato! Connie, Dan and their guests enjoed the delicious gala wedding dinner on the villa’s red terrace, while the sun set spectacularly over the sea.

After dinner and a selection of hilarious and emotional speeches, the couple cut their wedding cake. The cake eatured two wonderful cake toppers of the bride and groom, created by Connie’s mum. Connie and Dan cut their cake framed by the hearts and lanterns hanging prettily from the terrace’s trees.

There was a special surprise for the couple – in particular Dan – in the form of a congratulations letter from Arsène Wenger, the manager of Dan’s favourite football team, Arsenal. Dan was thrilled by the letter, which had been arranged months before by a close friend. The letter was in a red frame, of course! The letter was positioned in pride of place, on a second decorated table, close to the wedding cake! Connie and Dan and their guests sampled the delicious cake, before the couple took to the dance floor for their first dance. Afterward, the couple’s guests joined them on the dancefloor, for the remainder of the evening’s fun!
